Blue Lemon Counseling is a woman-owned mental health practice based in Columbus, OH. They needed an SEO-friendly website to launch their digital presence so new clients could find them in search. Team Emerald created an SEO strategy, wrote the content for the site, and built a website that now drives over 1K organic visitors each month!
The Strategy
We began with keyword research to understand how prospective clients search for mental health services, including keywords by mental health struggle (i.e. “depression,” “anxiety,” and by type of therapy (i.e. “couples counseling”).
Rather than placing every service on one general page, we created dedicated, SEO-friendly pages for each major therapy categoy. This made Blue Lemon’s expertise easier for prospective clients, search engines, and AI platforms to understand.
We also developed a blog content calendar featuring frequently asked questions and helpful mental health resources, giving the website more opportunities to rank while positioning Blue Lemon as an expert authority in their field.

The website and SEO strategy have established Blue Lemon Counseling as a discoverable authority beyond its existing brand, producing 122 page-one rankings, and 15% recent traffic growth without paid advertising.
Nearly 34% of all ranking keywords appear on page one. Blue Lemon has 122 first-page rankings, including 62 in the top three.
More than half of its keywords rank in the top 20, creating a strong pipeline for additional first-page growth.
